MY NAME IS THOR BAILEY AND MY BIOMASS MANAGEMENT JOURNEY BEGAN IN 1980

The 1979 energy crisis was the end cheap farm energy and caused my Irrigation Products business to shut down. Next phase, I established Energy Production (EP) as a consultant and partnered with Sandi's Secretarial Service in Chico CA for administration support.  We combined the two and formed Energy Production LP in 1982. About that time, we were approached by George Hrubi to help develop his 40 acres Eucalyptus Tree Farm with the vision we both had about the future of Biomass for "Renewable Energy" crops. George established a seedling nursery under Energy Resource Development (ERD). The rest is history!

In 1992 the stability of the biomass power industry began a slow decline. The try and maintain utility policy support the Biomass Processors Association (BPA) was formed.

The CAL BIOMASS ATLAS (CBA) will spotlight some businesses and biomass processing systems case studies and outline present projects in progress. GCN & ABT collaboration have evolved into the last of original 1980's pioneers.

GCN Legacy And Transition

CHANGING THE PARADIGM

Green Capital Network (GCN) was formed in 2004 as an LLC in Fresno as a diversified Agriculture biomass projects development group. Milt Pace, an Ag Engineer from UC Davis was the founder & CEO with 6 partners. The partners decided to dissolve the company in 2012 leaving an unfinished legacy in the biomass industry.

In 2014 I kept the GCN acronym and incorporated under Green Carbon Nexus (GCN) moving from Fresno to Chico and presently use a parttime office in Colusa. GCN has scaled back from project development and concentrating on innovative ways to deliver a real-time, small scale Climate Change mitigation solutions. Today's priority is general education about carbon sequestration and improved soil health benefits to the community and advocate for grassroots, real results!
