WELCOME TO
California Biomass
Evolution
By Thor Bailey
MY BIOMASS JOURNEY BEGAN 42 YEARS AGO
The 1979 energy crisis was the end cheap farm energy and caused my Irrigation Products business to shut down. Next phase, I established Energy Production (EP) as a consultant and partnered with Sandi's Secretarial Service in Chico CA for administration support. We combined the two and formed Energy Production LP in 1982. About that time, we were approached by George Hrubi to help develop his 40 acres Eucalyptus Tree Farm with the vision we both had about the future of Biomass for "Renewable Energy" crops. George established a seedling nursery under Energy Resource Development (ERD). The rest is history!
The CAL BIOMASS ATLAS (CBA) will spotlight some businesses and biomass processing systems case studies and outline present projects in progress. GCN & ABT collaboration have evolved into the last of original 1980's pioneers.

GCN Legacy And Transition
CHANGING THE PARADIGM
Green Capital Network (GCN) was formed in 2004 as an LLC in Fresno as a diversified Agriculture biomass projects development group. Milt Pace, an Ag Engineer from UC Davis was the founder & CEO with 6 partners. The partners decided to dissolve the company in 2012 leaving an unfinished legacy in the biomass industry.
In 2014 I kept the GCN acronym and incorporated under Green Carbon Nexus (GCN) moving from Fresno to Chico and presently use a parttime office in Colusa. GCN has scaled back from project development and concentrating on innovative ways to deliver a real-time, small scale Climate Change mitigation solutions. Today's priority is general education about carbon sequestration and improved soil health benefits to the community and advocate for grassroots, real results!
Biomass & Carbon Knowledge Simplified Online
We feel there is so much Climate Change information, it is hard to know where to start. Our goal is to have an entry level pathway to empirical knowledge as a bridge to higher education programs.
CAL BIOMASS ATLAS
Purpose will be a condensed view of what the past, present and anticipated vision related to California Agriculture’s & WUI biomass conversion technologies and infrastructure. The Atlas will include public interest facts related to the planets carbon cycle process.
Outreach & Marketing, the goal is to have Cal Biomass Atlas available through several non-profit organizations and Academic sources.

TESLAMAN VOLUME 2
In this comic book Teslaman and his superhero friends (Pachamama, Windmill Giant) take on Climate Change head on and continue to fight the villains (Paul Looter, Stinky, Smogman, Poysun) that are profiting from air pollution and the dangerous effects of natural disasters wreak havoc on our planet.

BIOCHAR MAN

Carbon is an essential element for all life forms on Earth. Whether these life forms take in carbon to help manufacture food or release carbon as part of respiration, the intake and output of carbon is a component of all plant, animal life.
Ken Scherer owner of KOrganics is the real life "Biochar Man."

Mutual Outreach Objectives
Applied Biomass Technicians (ABT) has years of experience in field operations and contacts for CAL BIOMASS ATLAS content. With 25 years of diverse feedstock management and technology siting experience we are unique.
ABT is Joint Venture partner with Ken Schere owner KOrganics kofrass.com

John & Liz Maher / Owners
Every day is an adventure at Discovery. Children exercise their bodies and minds through hands on active learning in our indoor and outdoor classrooms. We explore nature and learn from the plants and animals that live in our school. We dance, we sing, we garden and build all kinds of things. We love to prepare and experience new foods from many cultures. We read books in our library and look at bugs in our science center. We learn our letters and numbers and dream big dreams! We learn about biochar production!
